Chef Massimo Bottura is to open a new restaurant in Florence, Italy it’s being reported, in collaboration with the Italian fashion brand Gucci.
According to Vogue, the restaurant will be housed in the Gucci Museum, to be renamed Gucci Garden, in the Palazzo della Mercanzia. Currently undergoing renovations, the Gucci Garden will reopen during the annual Pitti Uomo men’s fashion event in January 2018, as will the restaurant.
The project is top secret at the moment and details are scarce, but Bottura has collaborated with Gucci before, on a video series called The Peformers, with GQ. Bottura’s Osteria Francescana restaurant in Modena, Italy currently sits at number two on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list, having claimed the title in 2016.
