New York: Can't get enough of La Mercerie
How would it feel like dining in a furniture store? Well there's always a first and especially in NY restaurants try to stand out. La Mercerie opened in late 2017 and is located inside Roman and Williams Guild furniture store.
Owned by the famous Parisian chef, Marie-Aude Rose, this small French restaurant will become your go-to place for a classy breakfast. It's not only about the food though, as the atmosphere and interior design welcome customers, even those passing by.
A corner flower shop in the entrance of the restaurant, an open kitchen and the view of the stylish one of a kind furniture store, come together peacefully and present a unique dining experience.
Apart from all the above though, your server will not only provide you with a food menu, but also with a dish menu. Yes, a dish menu exists, where you can actually buy the dishes your food and coffee is served. How cool is that?!
The menu is small but you'll definitely find yourself contemplating on what to order. The most famous dish is the Crepe Complete, i.e. sunny side up egg, ham and Comte 18 months, crepe which is absolutely delicious. On the other hand though, if you're feeling something more classic, the Oeuf a la coque, or else buttered soldiers, won't disappoint you at all.
While you wait for your eggs, don't hesitate to order some freshly baked warm Pain au chocolat, or Am Brioche with creme anglaise.
Tip: start off your day with a breakfast at La Mercerie and then go on a shopping trip around Soho for the rest of the day.
