No doubt, specialty coffee by now is a big scene around Tokyo. And if you happen to visit the north part of the city, then Glitch is definitely the stop to plan for!

Founder Kiyokazu Suzuki opened Glitch in 2015 just as the third wave was forming in the Japanese capital. A few years later, the imposing 5kg, gold-and-black Probat roaster, still goes strong as patrons enjoy the rich aroma espresso coffee beans at store or to go. Suzuki owns another two outposts in Japan, but what really sets him apart is the fact that staff from other coffee shops can visit Glitch to roast their beans - talking about colabs and respect!

Sourcing high quality espresso beans from Honduras, Ethiopia, Panama and Colombia, Glitch is one of the few unassuming roasters in Tokyo with a very relaxed vibe and a very small selection of morning treats (in case you’re hungry).
