Best time to visit:

There are many reasons why Williamsburg, and Brooklyn as a whole, has been on people’s “hot list” for years now. Some talk about its quiet, yet fun, neighborhoods, others about its hipster vibes, while people like me, about its interesting restaurants. I recently visited Sunday in Brooklyn, and I can say it is much more than just a neighborhood restaurant offering brunch, and it’s all because of Jaime Young, former chef of Atera in Manhattan.

There is no better place to visit on the weekends, especially during Fall, than Brooklyn. The weather is still good, you can easily stroll around, and why not try a new place. Sunday in Brooklyn is an all day restaurant offering breakfast, brunch and dinner.

Pecan Sticky Bun

As soon as you walk in the two-floor restaurant, one cannot go without staring at the, literally, open kitchen, where food is being prepared right in front of your eyes, making you feel like home, ready to jump in and help. The restaurant’s big black windows let the sunlight right through in, while their big wooden bar is the perfect spot for a weeknight drink after work. The second floor offers another dining space, along with its super small & cute terrace (try to get a place there during the warm days). All their tables are made by marble, and I can’t say how obsessed I was.

Egg & Sausage, Gochujang Aioli, Crispy Potato, Cheddar, Brioche

Now, let’s talk about food. The real problem with their brunch menu is that you’d probably want to order almost everything, so my advice to you is try and go on a group of 4-6. That way you’ll be able to enjoy lots of dishes, and most importantly their Malted Pancakes with Hazelnut Maple Praline & Brown Butter…say no more!

Once you’re seated, start off by ordering your coffee/cocktail along with their Pecan Sticky Bun, which will arrive fresh and warm, just at the right temperature. While looking at the menu, you should definitely consider their Egg & Sausage sandwich, their Burger with caramelized onions & aioli, or Biscuits & Gravy, with poached eggs and breakfast sausage gravy and hot sauce.

For those on the, rather, healthy side of dining, don’t mind at all, there are some points for you as well. You can choose from the Cow Milk Yogurt with Seasonal Fruit & Granola, to the Grain Bowl with quinoa, vegetables, kale, and soft boiled egg, and the Charred Avocado toast.

As you can imagine this place has become very popular by now, especially during the weekends for brunch. Thus, what you should really know before planning your visit is that the restaurant is mostly first come, first serve. They do take limited reservations only through the Resy app. So be prepared to put your name down on a waitlist, unless you wake up early and get there by 10:30ish.
