Serving the best seafood on the island, Yialos is by far the best restaurant in Pollonia and one where you definitely need to plan ahead of time. Visiting again and again can only leave us with happy vibes, especially when everything as far as service goes works like clockwork!
We only had a couple of nights during our short transit in Milos and we needed to plan it well. So along we booked a seafront table around sundusk at Yialos. As we made it to the restaurant, the cars boarding the short boat shuttle to Kimolos had just given way to foodgoers and all of those waiting in line to be seated. Luckily, we got our table momentarily and were greeted by the friendly staff. The restaurant’s maitre was in full swing, giving orders and helping staff left and right. We thankfully also had the time to chat about the food, our common hometown Thessaloniki and the future of Milos.
All the while enjoying amazing food!
If you’re into fresh fish, then the place will definitely not disappoint. They feature every day’s catch on a large display just outside the kitchen’s service pass. If you feel more like mixing several dishes, then the seafood is exquisite here! We tried their succulent sea urchin from Kimolos and some finely sliced fresh fish carpaccio! Their marinated anchovies were also tasty, albeit strong in flavour.
Above all, their lobster as well as their seafood pasta are both equally amazing! And although this is not the romantic place to spend hours at, we definitely like the friendly vibe set on the happening port of Pollonia.
