New York: Cafe Mogador will spice up your Sundays
I love brunch and I love eggs way too much to get bored of them; but there are times when I'm really looking for something different to spice-up my Sundays. So there you have it: Cafe Mogador!
No matter if you live in Manhattan or Brooklyn, this cafe has got you all covered. It's first location is in Williamsburg, where you can enjoy your meal in a very warm and cozy Moroccan-style environment, while its second location is in East Village, less of a decorative scenery, but you'll find the Moroccan pictures on the wall quite interesting (plus same food & taste!)
I have to admit my favorite location is in Williamsburg, just because I love their decor there. But good news is, since food is all that matters you'll probably enjoy the East Village location too (I did ;) ).
My favorite dish is the Haloumi Eggs, poached eggs on top of perfectly grilled haloumi cheese and tomato, which also comes along with a spicy Moroccan sauce (YUM!). If you'd like to share an appetizer, you should get the hummus and/or babaganoush. Definitely try out the Moroccan mint tea that is served in a traditional Moroccan teapot.
Keep in mind that you can definitely try out some other great dishes that they offer for lunch and dinner, in case you don't want to visit for brunch. More specifically, I would definitely order the hummus, babaganoush, labne, chicken tagine with lemon & olives and yogurt marinated chicken.
Fyi - if you get to go for brunch on a Sunday, be prepared to wait for a bit (usually 20-25 mins) as the cafe gets very crowded in both locations.
