Alas, some fresh air in Kypseli in what will definitely become your daily spot if you love good aesthetics, damn good food and awesome service! Kick is one for your list.

As I drive through the narrow and busy streets of Kypseli it strikes me how endless cars are parked sideways leaving very little space for those on foot. But when wandering around the central market of Kypseli, I start taking note of the newly-launched pop-up retail shops and the new cafés all around. Finally, there’s new life for this highly urban area of Athens that is moments away from the city centre retaining a neighbourhood vibe. Best of all the recent additions is Kick, an all day specialty coffee shop that also dubs as a retail shop… and serves vegan cookies too!
Kick launched in early July 2020 with the aim of attracting a young crowd in the era of digital nomads and working from home. Indeed, as I walk into the all-white space that is delicately colored with pastel notes, I observe the nomads sitting in the beech wooden tables of this bustling concept coffee shop. Giannis Konstantaridis founded this shop in an attempt to channel all his experience in the F&B space and couple that with his love for textiles and small scale clothing retail. Coming with heavy baggage from six d.o.g.s., BIOS and Romantzo, Giannis partnered with Area 51 roasters for serving the best coffee in town and with his mother Lena for fashioning their unisex line of Indiego Clothing.
And if that’s not enough, Kick also serves delicious cookies from The Cookie Dude and pastries from Eri Bakes Vegan.

The shop in shop concept is not at all new in Greece but surely the small and well-curated list of fashion and food brands Giannis is looking to attract is a great start! Plenty more is to come from pop-up launches to art installations and events.
Looking forward to all of them!
