Arrive in Athens International Airport (ATH) where you’ll be greeted by your private driver to take you to Rafina port. Onboard the ~4hr afternoon ferry to Naxos.
At Naxos port you’ll be greeted by your personal driver to take you to your hotel. Freshen up and get ready for dinner. There are many casual and tasty options around Chora. Check out our Naxos Travel Guide!
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and make plans for the day. Orientate yourself with the Naxos Full-Day sightseeing tour.
Alternatively, drive along the coastline south from Chora from Agios Prokopios to Plaka beach. There you’ll be able to find a good spot and sunbathe for a few hours. The waters are very calm and the vibe is very mellow.
Lunch bites at a seaside taverna is a must in Naxos. Try Taverna Paradiso or 3 brothers.
At night walk around Chora and have a drink inside the old town.
On your second day it’s time to explore the mountainous villages of Naxos: Chalkion, Filoti and Apiranthos. Budget a full day as there are many interesting things to see.
For lunch, you definitely have to visit Lefteris for their juicy steaks, beef burger and their famous Naxos cheese pie!
The Kitro destillery from the Mandilaras family in Chalkion is paramount to the local community here, as is the traditional Kafeneio of Galanis where locals hang with the infamous galaktoboureko dessert! Great ending to your afternoon Greek feast!
You can also catch the sunset at Rotonda Cafe Bar – the view is amazing!
Skip breakfast at the hotel and instead enjoy a delicious one at Melimilon. They make their own marmalades that they use in their egg dishes too!
Head South towards Mikri Vigla for another great beach (partly organised) or Alyko beach (not organised), just below an abandoned industrial site. A great taverna to visit is Axiotissa, although you should make a reservation beforehand.
At night, visit the traditional cheese shop in Chora – what a dive – before having some drinks around.
Another great half-day self-drive tour is to Kinidaros and Koronos. Two lovely tavernas, both nestled in the small alleys of these villages are the perfect treat for the long way you have to go. Take note of the relaxed pace of this villages which date back in time.
If you prefer meat have lunch at Stou Vasilarakiou; otherwise dine at the lush garden of Matina & Stavros tavern for homemade dishes.
On your last day in Naxos, visit Chora’s castle in the morning and enjoy the view to the port. Alternatively, you can do the same just before sunset and also have a drink at the terrace of 1739 Terrasse Cafe.
For the main part of the day, you can hang around Tortuga Beach bar again or opt for a trek to Psili Ammos beach. Very quiet, not organised but beautiful. You can also combine this with some fish in Moutsouna.
After breakfast, swing by Chora for some last minute shopping.
Check-out from your hotel and get the noon ferry back to Rafina port. There you’ll be greeted by your private driver who will take you to Athens International Airport.
