The country of great wealth, diverse culture, fine wine and unexpected beauties lies in the heart of Europe. The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the only Grand Duchy in the world, might be small, but it’s certainly rich in astonishing medieval architecture, sleepy villages, natural wonders and authentic, elevated charm. Whether you’re seeking an adventure or an art and culture-inspired trip, Luxembourg is a destination where you can meet all your needs

Luxembourg city / Image: Rowan Heuvel Source Two sides of one city: the charming capital of Luxembourg As the capital city of this beautiful little country, Luxembourg has always been popular among tourists. However, what makes it so special isn’t its status as the country’s capital, but its unique charm that combines both an antique beauty and modern, cosmopolitan vibe. Luxembourg City has two different, but equally imposing sides. The Old Town, a UNESCO-listed site, is one of the most scenic and charming areas in Europe. It features cobblestone streets, spiritual churches and the gorges of the meandering Alzette and Pétrusse rivers. You can explore numerous tunnels and unexpected nooks, soak in the spirit of this rural idyll, and then take some time to get to know the other personality of Luxembourg City – the Kirchberg district. Here, you can enjoy the recognizable modern feel of European city metropolises, explore the Philharmonie, the astonishing concert hall located on the Kirchberg Plateau, or admire the artwork of both national and international contemporary artists at the Musée d’Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean (MUDAM).

At the lakes of Luxembourg, including the Upper-Sure Lake, the Lakes of Remerschen and the Lake of Echternach, you can try some of the popular water sports, such as water-skiing, diving, canoeing and kayaking. Afterwards, you can relax in one of the magnificent gardens, including the Parks of Pétrusse, the Central Park of Edouard André, an English garden at the heart of Luxembourg, or the French Gardens of Ansembourg Castle.

For a more exciting and authentic journey, you can opt for Barge Travel Connection packages and offers and explore the beauties of the Grand Duchy by boat. You can visit the village of Remich and have a taste of the finest wines in Luxembourg or simply soak in the dreamy scenery while meandering along the Moselle River. Even the capital city can be explored by boat, which will provide you with a different and unique experience.
