Childhood holidays to the Adriatic Riviera in Italy ignited Callie’s love for travel, especially to Italy, where she has been lucky enough to visit many times since then; from the mountains and lakes of the north all the way down to the island of Sicily and Puglia, in the heel of Italy’s boot. She tries to visit Italy at least once a year, from her home in London and writes in her blog at passagetopuglia.com.
Her travels also take her all over the rest of Europe and as often as possible to South East Asia, with Cambodia, Thailand and Indonesia being favourites. Wherever she goes in the world, Callie immerses herself in the food, language and culture and most trips are driven by an obsession with trying as many new cuisines as possible, always trying to eat what and as the locals do … even if this means enjoying curry for breakfast in Sri Lanka, sampling smelly durian on the streets of Bangkok or fighting for the best pintxo dish at the bar in San Sebastian at 10pm!
