RONIN is one of those rare hidden finds one would wish to stumble upon on a visit to a new city. Only, RONIN doesn’t even have a sign outside its somewhat hidden location on Hong Kong street. The coffee and eggs though are definitely worth it once you find it!

When it first opened its doors in 2016, RONIN was one of those “hidden finds” with little to no reviews online, and no website or social media presence to inform customers of its opening hours or menu. Dimly-lit and quiet, its the perfect spot for those seeking a relaxing breakfast away from the humidity and the heat in the morning streets of Singapore.

The menu is not that long but it definitely caters to those in look for eggs or more healthier options. The morning I visited I had eggs on toast (with a side of avocado) which were delicately made, with just about the right of fluffiness and a very smooth texture. The espresso shot was rich in flavour and bold in its acidity, single origin of course, and the service was impeccable.

They also offer some baked goods as well as some special coffee options (think Wicked Mocha – hot or cold) – whatever you’re having though you will definitely enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and a starking contrast to Singapore’s busy CBD.
