Felix is a filmmaker, Selima (aka Mogli) is a musician, and together with their dog Rudi they took on a road trip in a converted school bus and traveled 19,683 kilometers across America! Sounds frivolous and fun enough, need we say more?
Felix and Mogli purchased a 20-year-old school bus over the internet for $9,000 before catching a plane to New York to start transforming it. Within 12 weeks of challenging and for the most part of it handmade fitting, they repurposed the bus and made it… home!
The bus got equipped with a fully-functioning kitchen, a queen-size bed, a flat-screen TV (complete with Netflix!) and a marine handmade tiled bathroom. Oh, did we mention the dog bed?
Making friends at Flow restaurant in Tulum where the couple stayed for 6 weeks
The whole idea came when their dog Rudi couldn’t walk down the stair from their loft in Berlin and Felix had to carry him down. ‘Once he reached 80 pounds when 4 months old it was time to get out of there.’ Felix said.
This was not the first time Felix was on a crazy exploration trip, as in 2013 he took on a 17,000km cycling tour around the world. The couple was spending time in Berlin, putting together a documentary on that when they decided to leave Germany behind and begin their exploration from Alaska.
Expedition Happiness got on wheels and the couple lived amazing moments on the road!
Making breakfast!
After 6 months of road-tripping, the couple finally decided to stop their trip and spend Christmas back home where they’re going to put together a documentary of their experience. Mind you, the film will be out in the cinemas in May 2017!
