News: NYC finally getting its first ever dog café

Hosted | 21 July 2017

According to DNAInfo, a self-described “dog friendly cafe” called Boris & Horton will be opening in the East Village on the corner of East 12th Street and Avenue A in December 2017. Boris & Horton will allow any dog to enter its premises, and will provide a hearty mix of coffee, wine, and food options for humans and various treats for the pups. Not only that, but there will be a photo booth for pet photos and a high-end merchandise area, as well.

The standard rules will apply here—the dogs have to stay in a designated part of the cafe due to health and safety codes, while their owners can roam around freely throughout the storefront. Cafe owner Coppy Holzman said there will be a glass wall separating the two areas, so the dogs will never be out of sight or out of mind.

What we found is, a lot of people like dogs and because of their circumstances can’t have one—so this is a dog-friendly place.
