Hong Kong’s iconic double-decker trams have recently caught a glimpse of the 21st century with a new logo and a refreshed visual identity. Forget about the dated red-and-blue logo introduced some good 40 years ago. Nowadays, it’s all about more simple design and the color of green, a colour synonymous with the original models from 1904. More so, it’s a nod to its entering the modern era of environmentally friendly transportation.
Speed and convenience may dominate in Hong Kong but the cheap and cheerful “ding dings” still transport 200,000 passengers a day along the northern strip of the island.
