Models, artists, fashion editors, are just a few of the popular crowd that can be dining on the table next to you on a Thursday night at Indochine. For over 25 years now, this restaurant has managed to retain its reputation as one of the most fashionable restaurants in Manhattan.

As soon as you walk in you get the sense of being in a French colonial residence, surrounded by palm leaves on the walls, fine wooden furniture, and checkerboard floors (did I mention I love these floors?).

A perfect spot for dinner with your friends!

Steamed Vietnamese ravioli

You can definitely start your night with some cocktails at their bar – try the cucumber and chill martini – and then, once your table is ready, enjoy a delicious french-vietnamese meal. I would recommend you try keeping it down to 4-6 people, as on busy nights the room can get noisy making it rather difficult to talk with your friends.

Make sure you make a reservation in advance because the place is usually full!

Ok ok, I get it you’re done with all the scenery and style narrative so let’s talk about what matters…. what to order?! My personal favorite starters are steamed vietnamese ravioli (YUM!), spring rolls, crispy shrimp and grilled eggplant.

As for the main dishes, I would recommend the grilled skirt steak, spicy chicken breast, crispy whole red snapper and the glazed duck breast. Do not hesitate to order some sides as well, like the sticky rice and the wok-seared brussels sprouts.
