It doesn’t take much time to discover that a place is made out of love and passion for some great ice cream and crepes. Bon Bon opened in late summer 2017 and immediately put Kythira on the gastronomic map with an outpost capable of attracting foodies from afar.
Redefining crepes for Greeks can be quite hard, as we’re all used to the Greek version of them – be it sweet or savoury. But Kriton Poulis, the mastermind behind Bon Bon and co-owner of the Parisian Kilikio did it. It’s about the only place in Greece when one can taste the traditional Bretagne style savoury crepes, galettes – make sure you first try their classic recipe before you devour the more daring ones!-, as well as the only place where ice cream is so rich in flavour and aroma!
Each ice cream flavour is named after one of the island’s landmarks, be it beaches, mountains or the famous Hytra islet opposite Chora, and are carefully created batch by batch by the pastry chef himself. And to top it all off, Kriton is on standby every single night there making sure that everything works like clockwork with the limited staff that he operates.

Service is indeed a bit challenged when the place gets really busy during the evening but all of the staff chips in, from Kriton himself to their wholesale sales manager, to keep the devoted clientele happy. Bon Bon is also open during the morning hours for a light breakfast menu (sadly no crepes available!) and has recently opened its Myconian outpost right in the heart of Little Venice steps away from the old Caprice bar landmark.
Rumor has it (yup, this is still confidential) they’re about to also open a store in Athens where they also have their central workspace. We can’t wait!
