London: the best fresh pasta bar is Padella

The latest food trend to take London by storm is... fresh pasta. You heard that right, restauranteurs are on a mission to prove why their freshly knead pasta beats anything you can knock up at home. And leading the pack is Borough Market’s Padella, bringing fresh Italian pastas to everyone and anyone with a fiver. 

Paros: low-key taverna dining by the sea at Mouragio

Alyki has been this traditional seaside settlement on the south of the island with a slow vibe and only a handful of tourists making it there, mostly to a couple of nice beaches in the area. Over the years, Mouragio has been the centrepiece of gastronomy with a traditional taverna setting right by the water and some delicious meze to go with it.

Naxos: local steakhouse and butcher shop at Stou Vasilarakiou

Long after I first visited Naxos, I discovered a series of mountainous settlements beyond the typical must-see spots of Apiranthos, Halki and Filoti. In Kinidaros, a tiny village in the north of Naxos you will find a typical meat taverna that also dubs as a butcher shop run by the Klouvatos family that has recently attracted more and more food connoisseurs.
