Los Angeles: A confusing but delicious experience at Gjusta
Located in Venice, Gjusta is the perfect destination for a delicious fulfilling breakfast (or lunch) before you head to the beach. It is both a deli and a bakery and believe me, it performs these duties equally well.
Gjusta was opened by the owners of the evenly awesome place Gjelina (serving yummy pizza!) and it is currently the coolest food spot in Venice.
Heading there for the first time after a friend’s recommendation, I found this place pretty confusing but awesome and unique at the same time.
It is a hidden gem in a white-washed warehouse space with no signs outside, just a wooden door. Once you find it, good luck with figuring out how all of this works; Long counter with even longer queues and too many food options. The only thing you can do is grab a ticket number and patiently wait for your turn while reading the menu.
The first thing you see when you enter Gjusta, is the long counter with local, fresh ingredients and home-made pastries. As you walk through the store you will see pizzas, rotisserie meats and antipasti. Everything looks and tastes amazing!
Seating is only available at the back patio, since inside there is only a marble counter where you can stand and eat your breakfast.
If you happen to be there, don’t miss out on the Tomato Confit sandwich and their delicious cold latte!
