Athens: cosy homemade feel at Bebeka's restaurant

Athens: cosy homemade feel at Bebeka's restaurant

I love when restaurants owners give unique names to their “babies”. Bebeka restaurant is one of them. It’s located in Halandri area, not to the crowdy place, but to a quiet neighbourhood. Bebeka is a home with a beautiful green garden and gives you the feeling that you enjoy your lunch or dinner at home. And yes. It’s a real home.

From the moment you enter to this dreamy restaurant, the first thing you notice is the decoration. Pastel wall colors, small ceramic boats and balloons decorate the walls, paintings made by children, dolls and flowers, make you feel like entering to a girly room.

The owners pay extra attention to the food they serve. All dishes are home made and you feel that you enjoy your mummy’s meal. The raw material they use is clean, authentic and pure.

The menu is exceptional. Bebeka salad, mastello cheese, wrapped feta with honey, calf served with groats, raisins with a touch of orange flakes, tagliatelle in a pot, kritharoto with pesto and parmesan flakes are few that we ordered. For dessert, this time we made an exception. We tasted a homemade cake, because of my little one’s name day.

And for the end, I would like to thank the owners and the people who work there. Their love for their job and what they have “created” is obvious on their faces. Always with a smile, very gentle and so quick, paying extra care to all of us who visit their restaurant for our lunch or dinner.

Bebeka restaurant is one of the places that you want to visit again and again, not only for its tastes but also for its people.
