But does anyone really need this?
We’re leaning towards no… but maaayybe
Look, I take Lyft at least three times per week, and I can’t recall the last time I had to wait more than five minutes for my driver to arrive. It’s three minutes or less, every single time. What’s the benefit here? In many ways, it seems like there’d be a greater chance of your driver being late for your scheduled pick up than a Lyft not being available and less than a few minutes away on-demand.
So yeah, seems a bit unnecessary, at least here in SF where drivers grow on pink moustache trees.
With that being said…
I lived in the middle of nowhere Connecticut for a year and whenever I opened a ride-sharing app, the closest available driver was at least 25 minutes away. That’s when this feature would come in handy. When you need to be somewhere at 8am tomorrow, but you live in an area where Lyft’s presence is lacking.
