Finding a food establishment that was one a garage or car park is not that hard in Barcelona, especially if you’re around the Eixample neighbourhood. But boy does Auto Rosellon has created really something! Cool retro atmosphere, a great and tasty menu and great coffee/drinks… all day long!
I recently visited Auto Rosellon on an early weekday morning for a quick breakfast and ended up staying there the whole morning working off my laptop whilst enjoying the goodies the kitchen prepared – think fried eggs with Jamon Iberico on country bread! Breakfast and brunch is definitely a top notch experience at Auto Rosellon that once used to be a garage and has recently been refurbished retaining some of the original signs and that old charm – not to mention the great name!
The breakfast menu also features other egg dishes, as well as the more healthy choices like poached eggs, yoghurt granola and waffle with ricotta cheese and peaches – oh yes! But the coffee here is also great, a hard act to follow in the ever evolving third wave world that we live in nowadays. Auto Rosellon also serves a seasonal all-day menu offering mostly Mediterranean-inspired dishes (despite their “no-tag cuisine” signage on the front door), as well as delivery (through Deliveroo) and take-away from their side-window counter.
The beef carpaccio is specifically good, served right on the table and sprinkled with parmesan shavings and the chocolate mousse dessert is second to none, topped with some whole nuts. Credits go to Appetite and Other Stories for some of the images.
The place is also dog-friendly and can also take reservations if you think about visiting for lunch or dinner when Auto Rosellon gets even more busy from Eixample locals.
