Located in the heart of Historic downtown Alpharetta, Butcher & Brew is a neighborhood gem. When I first walked by the place I couldn’t but notice its retro inspired design features coming out of the fifties and sixties era. The huge metal lighted sign caught my attention. It was a definite yes to get on the list for a try out.

First time we went was for a quick “sit at the bar, have a beer” thing, see what the place is all about and then probably move to the next one. As it turned out that wasn’t the case. We loved the menu options and thought to try some plates along with our beers and cocktails. The Paleo bowl was the dish I fell in love with from the first bite and it is a must every time we go at Butcher & Brew. The ingredients combo is so good: sweet potato, spinach, caramelized onion, red bell pepper, avocado, hard boiled egg, peanut, broccolini, spicy honey mustard and bacon make it hard to resist. We also had the Asian bowl and the Daily one with quinoa and both of those were really tasty. The truffle parmesan fries is a must and a great way to chew on something when you’re drinking your beer and if you’re up for a sandwich/burger plate, the selections vary from that to be filled with house made pastrami, green egg smoked pork and asian style pork belly to the more classic crusted salmon, fried chicken and shaved angus ribeye.

You can find unique craft beers sourced from breweries all over the U.S. and they make the most wicked milkshake for adults: the working man, which consists of bourbon, mint bitters, vanilla ice cream, dark cacao chips and mint leaves. Love it! For those of you who have a sweet tooth please leave room for a dessert..their candy bar is brilliant!
