Meat has always been a classic affair for the quiet suburb of Stamata. And despite local legend, To Metsovo serves just about the best grilled meat you can find north of Athens!

The restaurant has been a traditional Sunday gathering for big families and groups wanting to get their fingers on the perfectly grilled meat delicacies. However, if you want to avoid the crowds it’s best that you visit for a weekday dinner and enjoy some calmness away from the Sunday madness!

The menu is pretty straightforward and simple with beef taking up a fair share of the pie. Niche delicate pieces of meat like kokoretsi and kontosouvli are also available most of the time but the king of them all is the crispy yet juicy lamb chops! French fries are always in order although the best fried dish we tried is the fluffy cheese pie toped with some shredded cheddar cheese.
