Sundays are always better when sharing some good food surrounded by your loved ones. And at the homey family-run taverna Kissos in the heart of Paradisos Amarousiou, it’s exactly like that. Wanna find out more?

As you go past it on this small street of Halandri, you tend to miss it as Kissos is nestled under some trees and hidden by the homey-like set-up. The lush and sunny patio outside is perfect for the summer days (which is almost on every other day in Athens!) but the indoors dining room is also very cosy and welcoming. White and red checkered tablecloths with neatly stacked tables next to each other create a very casual and relaxed ambience, setting the vibe for what’s about to follow.
Maria, the owner and mother of the family, prepares homey food daily and shares a wide array of traditional recipes with the regular patrons of Kissos. She’s on the helmet ever since 1986 cooking everything herself, from meatballs on red sauce to dolmades, that are both a must for your Sunday feast. The grilled meat is always on the menu too with the chicken ribs being their top dish!
But what was really astounding last time we were there were their beef patties! Three big-sized soutzoukakia made from pure meat with no added breadcrumbs or anything else. Remarkable!
They’ve also recently added a delivery service if you don’t have the time but we would strongly recommend you visit yourself to also get a feeling of what Kissos is really about!
