Having lived in NY, the Japanese cuisine, and especially sushi, has become one of my favorite. As a result, I always look for places that offer traditional Japanese dishes, good quality of ingredients and a peaceful environment to enjoy your meal. KiKu restaurants are part of the Athenian restaurants scene for 25 years now., while their most popular locations are those of Kolonaki and Mykonos.
One thing that definitely stands out at Kiku is its interior design. As soon as you walk in, you are surrounded by dark wooden walls, black columns and colorful artworks. This perfect combination has created an elegant and Japanese style feeling.

The restaurant offers limited dining seats, creating an exclusive environment, while staff is focused on serving its customers at their best. In addition, the bar at the welcoming area is prompting visitors to make a stop and have a drink chosen from their cocktail or whiskey lists.
But now its time to talk about our love…food!
I would say you start off with some spicy edamame (they’re really spicy!), while having a look on the rest of the menu. Go ahead and order their marinated seabass with yuzu sauce, a fresh, cool and tasty dish. Definitely consider the deep fried aubergine, as well as, their rock shrimp tempura.

On the sushi rolls side, I would say customers tend to choose their favorite rolls regardless of the sushi restaurant they’re in. However, I need to advise you to order the marinated tuna nigiri with fresh truffle and the creamy spicy seabass nigiri (really good!).
Regarding Kiku’s main courses, my favorite dishes are the, all time classic, black cod marinated with miso sauce and salmon teriyaki.

Can you still breathe or did you purposely leave some room for dessert? Well if you did, then good for you! Just have a look on the picture below and I’m sure all chocolate lovers out there reading this right now will know exactly which one to choose. Chocolate, caramel and biscuit crumbs, all in one dessert, are just heaven.
