If you’ve been to Koukaki recently then you surely have noticed the gentrification of this Athenian neighbourhood, just off the Acropolis area. What you may have not necessarily noticed is this tiny coffee and wine bar place on the small street of Zitrou, Drupes & Drips, tending beverages, juices and tasty delicacies to more and more regulars.
Did we mention impeccable service?

First there was the coffee place, then there was Starbucks… now it’s all about specialty coffee roasteries. On this 3rd wave, the world (yes, Athens too) has become so busy with the places competing over the best flat white, cold brew and the likes.
Drupes & Drips was an inventive evolution of a small space just across the street from Takis bakery, where this family business began its operations in the area. Artemis Papadopoulos, son of Takis and Anna, together with his brother Theodore launched this cute join in June 2015. They serve specialty coffee and juice in the mornings (you should definitely try their pomegranate mix!) and fine wine together with tasty Mediterranean bites (enter bruschetta with a Greek twist) later on in the day.

Merging Greek sourced sweet pickled Florinis peppers with fine Italian salami
The spirits menu is small but comprehensive, featuring fine Greek wine, crisp Italian prosecco and even handmade Cretan raki! As for the small salumeria, Artemis has manned it with expert Angelos Kostopoulos who elegantly offers advice on what to serve you.
Overall, friendly service in a cute, tiny place made from the heart.
