Some places are so simple to explore that you don’t really need anyone to tell you where, what or how. Antiparos may be small but this place may not necessarily catch you eye. Despite that, Elia Kafenes will certainly leave you wondering whether this is the best food you’ll try around!
Elia Kafenes opened in Antiparos 3-4 years ago, with a very limited space on the main walkway of the island. Since then, it has grown in both size as well as in allure. Mellow summer (mostly reggae) music, white aesthetics and a great menu!
Chef Panagiotis probably owns most of the success here, as the dishes are second to none. Great variety in signature egg dishes (see the menu above for a sneak peek), juicy sandwiches and much much more, make for the perfect breakfast/brunch before heading to the beach.
I tried their eggs on top of a hearty traditional brown bread, with a guacamole spread, fresh pomodorini, some feta cheese and fresh thyme – d i v i n e ! Ok, I cheated a bit as the dish normally comes with chopped hard boiled eggs and I opted for sunny side up. Regardless, I can’t wait to go back and try some more of what Panagiotis makes. Their egg B.L.T. was also super good and very juicy! Need much more than what you see on the cover photo?
If you’re looking for something on the sweet side to close this off with, then you have two options: yoghurt with fresh fruit, oats and honey… or the super dooper chocoloate Oreo pancakes.
Happy brunching!
