West Village has perhaps most of our favorites restaurants in the city. The local vibe, the artsy influences and the beautiful brownstones, all come together in this unique neighborhood. Looking for a new spot to explore, Charlie Bird came across and we couldn’t have been happier about our Saturday brunch experience.

As mentioned in the past, I am an eggs lover since forever and brunch for me means all different styles of eggs, bacon and avocado. However, this place offers a more sophisticated brunch menu that I was eager to try out.

White Asparagus with Hazelnuts, Farm Egg & Parmigiano Fonduta

The restaurant is of average size, with a long dining area, modern style tables and leather chairs, while the decoration its based on music influences and flowers. Customers can enjoy their meal on a lively environment, while the restaurant’s big windows help on making the area feel even more spacious. On summer months their patio is the perfect spot for you and your company.

With regards to the most important aspect of the restaurant, the food, their brunch menu consists of small and large plates. If you are a cheese lover try out the Roman Burrata, while their White Asparagus is a must!

Looking at their large plates, it is very easy to depict the Italian inspiration in most of their dishes. The Poached Egg with polenta, a very traditional Italian food, stands outs. Moving along the eggs side, the Frittata with asparagus and prosciutto, is definitely a dish you’ll enjoy. However, if pasta is all you dream of, the restaurant offers some exceptional choices, such as the Rigatoni and Cacio e Pepe.

Tips

I highly recommend you try and make a reservation in advance as the place gets crowded, especially over the weekends.

Check out their Wine List, as they have a great selection of Europeans Wines.
